Running Rivers
The streams and peaceful rivers are a beautiful, and an important part of the character of the moors. Providing an integral habitat for nationally important species, a water supply for people and a scenic relaxing part of the landscape. The waterways in the North Yorkshire Moors have a range of characters including babbling brooks, wooded gorges and slow waters.
Wonderful woodland
The North Yorkshire Moors is one of the most wooded of England’s National Parks. The woodland covers 23% of the National Park, covering many of the valley sides. Some of the woodland trees in the National Park are very old. Ancient woodlands that have existed for over 400 years make up 5% of the North York Moors - many plants and animals that live here are found nowhere else, making the woodland area irreplaceable!
However you choose to explore the moors, whether that be by foot, on two wheels or horseback, you are sure to be impressed by the magnificent landscape and wildlife that can be found across the National Park. This stunning landscape is easily accessible from all our Yorkshire holiday parks!
