What are the opening dates for 2024?
Friday 1st March, 9am to Saturday 4th January, 3pm
Please note: you will not be able to access your caravan to ‘set up’ before the opening date.

What are the pitch fees this year?
Your invoice has been sent in the post and details the annual pitch fees. You can expect increases not to exceed the BH&HPA guidelines of 5% from one year to the next. They are considered on an annual basis and this doesn’t mean they will go up by 5% each year.

What am I paying for?
Your pitch fee covers the rent of the ground on which you caravan sits. It includes water, VAT, grounds maintenance and any applicable rates.

What do I need to do next?
To comply with out site licence, before paying you need to prove that your address is your permanent residence. There is a document enclosed which details how you can do this. Please do this as soon as possible to enable a speedy process for payment.

Unfortunately, we can’t take any payment before these documents have been received and approved.

When do I need to pay?
Once you have sent in your proofs of address please contact us to make payment. We are pleased to offer the following terms of payment where you can split the site fee over two instalments. You can also make regular payments of smaller amounts at times to suit to meet these payment dates.

We will once again be extending the offer to pay in two instalments i.e. 1st December 2023 and 1st February 2024. All second payments must be made by 1st February 2024. To avoid £25 late payment fee, please put a note in your diary, as reminders will not be sent.

Should you want to pay in full before the 1st December 2023, we will knock £50.00 off your amount due.

How can I pay?
Once you have provided your proofs of address, you can pay over the phone with a credit or debit card. Please call head office on 01723 584311. Please note we don’t accept bank transfers for the pitch fees.

Upkeep & Maintenance - The Caravan Owner is responsible for the general upkeep of the caravan and the tidiness around the unit, ensuring that the area underneath the caravan is kept clean and free of all material at all times. Park Management reserve the right to remove any items not seen to be stored correctly. Advice on closing your holiday home for winter and re-opening in spring is available from your park office.

Charity donation - I would like to wish you a very healthy and hopefully sunny season. This year our Christmas card donation was made to St Catherine’s Hospice, Scarborough.

We’re removing age limits on caravans! When you bought your caravan there was a limit to the amount of time you were allowed to keep your caravan on the park, however as the Flower of May Holiday Parks grow and develop we are delighted to be able to remove that limit and you can stay for longer! More time to make more memories! Terms apply and are available on our website.

What am I paying for?
Your pitch fee covers the rent of the ground on which you caravan sits. It includes water, VAT, grounds maintenance and any applicable rates. Any facilities that may be on park are not included in your pitch fees. Some charges may apply for use.

Free swimming! Great news! In previous years, swimming has been charged as an extra, however this will no longer be the case. You can swim without paying extra! T&Cs will apply and more information will be provided closer to the season starting. We appreciate and share your frustrations about the pool not being open as much as we’d like this year, we are working towards ensuring a smoother operation for 2024.

Proofs of address

Why do I need to prove my permanent residence?
Your holiday home is for holiday use only the payment of your pitch fees must be qualified with proof of identity as well as proof of a council tax address. This is a requirement of Harrogate Borough Council to confirm that static caravans are being used only for leisure purposes and not as permanent residences. This forms part of the site licence and must be completed on an annual basis.

As such, you need to be able to provide documentation to show you have a permanent residence that corresponds with the name(s) and address on our records.

Step 1 – Photo ID in person
The register we are obliged to keep must include sight of a document to prove your identity as owner and we are asking you to produce such evidence to the park office before you pay your fees for 2022.

You need to produce, in person at Riverside Meadows, one of these acceptable forms of photo ID:

- Driving license

- Passport

Step 2 – Address Verification
You must also submit either:

- Your most recent council tax bill

Or two documents from the following list:

- Gas bill*

- Water bill*

- Electric bill*

- State pension or benefits letters from HMRC*

*Documents should be dated within the last 6 months.

Your documents must show the address and this must include the name(s) and address on our accounts for your holiday home.

For this step we cannot accept:

- Bank statements

- Credit/debit card statements

- Mobile phone bills

- Passports (these do not have your address on)
